Werner Nell is Professor of Comparative Literature in Halle. His research interests include theory and methodology of comparative literature, European-transatlantic literary and cultural relations, literature in transnational processes, comparative regional studies, and intercultural German studies. Among his publications is an essay on transcultural education titled “Globalisierung oder Europäisierung der Welt? Perspektiven transkultureller Bildung im Anschluss an Georg Forster” (2005) as well as a monograph on locating fictional places titled Atlas der fiktiven Orte: Utopia, Camelot und Mittelerde – Eine Entdeckungsreise zu erfundenen Schauplätzen (2012).
