Mission Statement
The Muhlenberg Center for American Studies is dedicated to the advancement of innovative scholarship and teaching on the Americas in a transnational and global context.
It aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among scholars, teachers, and students from different backgrounds and fields and create a vital intellectual community by organizing and sponsoring international academic conferences, symposia, lectures, seminars, and teacher training workshops.
As an integral part of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), it aspires to enhance MLU’s national and international reputation for excellence in research and education on the Americas and carries on the fascinating transatlantic legacy of the Muhlenberg family.
